Screenwriting Adaptation w/ Claire Mulligan

This two-part workshop will occur over two Saturdays. In the first session we will look at the techniques and challenges of adaptation, how to format and structure your film, how to find source material, and how to get legal rights, amongst other topics. Participants will then be challenged to write a short film adaptation of an adapted scene which will be workshopped and discussed in the second session the following week.

Open for Submissions – VFF Reception

CineVic member and former Executive Director, Bryan Skinner, is set for a hometown premiere of his breakthrough feature film Open for Submissions on Monday February 10th at 6:00pm at Cineplex Odeon. And it's already sold out! After the screening, pop around the corner to CineVic headquarters in Millie's Lane to raise a glass and celebrate the achievements of Skinner and his talented crew.
Respectful Workplaces in the Arts – Workshop

CineVic is pleased to bring this national tour of workshops to its only stop on Vancouver Island. The Cultural Human Resources Council (CHRC) is working in collaboration with national arts service organizations and leaders in the sector to guide artists and arts organizations across the country towards preventing harassment of any kind, and to build respectful workplaces as the norm in the cultural sector.
