This is not a workshop or class. This is a group of filmmakers of varying levels of experience sharing what they know - what has worked and what hasn't.

Each month we'll have a different speaker give a short presentation on their work, then we'll head across the street to the Yates Taphouse side-room to continue the conversation.

CineVic member and former Executive Director, Bryan Skinner, is set for a hometown premiere of his breakthrough feature film Open for Submissions on Monday February 10th at 6:00pm at Cineplex Odeon. And it's already sold out! After the screening, pop around the corner to CineVic headquarters in Millie's Lane to raise a glass and celebrate the achievements of Skinner and his talented crew.

It's the return of our monthly member social -- welcome to the new YAPPY HOUR! On the last Wednesday of each month, join your fellow CineVic members for some socializing, networking, collaborating, and just plain schmoozing. Each month we'll have a different speaker give a short presentation on their work, then we'll head across the street to the Yates Taphouse side-room to continue the conversation and munch some nachos! For our February YAPPY HOUR we've got local young filmmaker Octavian Kaul -- he'll share experiences working with the local film communities in Sidney and Victoria.

CINE⚡SPARK Pitch Competition

Now in its fourth year, CINE⚡SPARK annually awards a production package of cash, equipment, and services worth over $17,500 to an outstanding short screenplay by a filmmaker from the Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands region. The winner will have a year to complete the film and premiere it at next year's Short Circuit Film Festival. The Top 5 have been chosen -- now YOU can watch them pitch their projects!
