Film Production Workshop – Location Sound and RED Camera

This intensive two-day workshop is for technicians to learn more about industry practices and problem-solving, for location sound recording and on set camera operation in a scripted scenario. A basic understanding of audio principles, camera setup, and some location sound experience is preferred but not mandatory. This workshop is intended for self-identifying members of an underrepresented community in the film industry. Instructors Lesley Marshall and Daniel Taggart-Hodge will lead the workshop by employing terminology of anti-oppression based filmmaking and horizontal leadership structures. We are also seeking scripts and actors for this workshop.

From opening cases to offloading footage, the session will cover a complete workflow, including camera building, menus and settings, focus and monitoring, image capture, data management and safe handling of equipment.
