Short Circuit Film Festival – Early Deadline

Short Circuit Pacific Rim Film Festival returns in May 2024 for our 12th annual edition! Filmmakers from all regions bordering the Pacific Ocean are invited to submit your short film for consideration. We also encourage local filmmakers from Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands to send us your work!
Film Production Workshop – Location Sound and RED Camera
2-3 December 2023
This intensive two-day workshop is for technicians to learn more about industry practices and problem-solving, for location sound recording and on set camera operation in a scripted scenario. A basic understanding of audio principles, camera setup, and some location sound experience is preferred but not mandatory. This workshop is intended for self-identifying members of an underrepresented community in the film industry. Instructors Lesley Marshall and Daniel Taggart-Hodge will lead the workshop by employing terminology of anti-oppression based filmmaking and horizontal leadership structures. We are also seeking scripts and actors for this workshop.
