Intro to CineVic’s Blackmagic Cameras w/ Brian Globus

Back by popular demand, this five hour workshop with instructor Brian Globus is for CineVic Members and Non-Members, to get familiar with our Blackmagic 6K Pro cameras, cinema lenses, and associated peripherals, for use in production. From opening cases to offloading footage, the session will cover a complete workflow, including camera building, menus and settings, focus and monitoring, image capture, data management and safe handling of equipment. The course has space for eight participants, four per camera, to try different roles including operator, focus puller and second assistant.

Participants will learn how to:

• build and configure cinema cameras in studio or on location
• use cinema lenses and related camera accessories
• operate remote follow focus and monitors
• navigate commonly used menus and settings
• capture footage with live stand-in performer
• offload and backup memory cards
• get inspired to rent and use Blackmagic cameras for your production!

Brian Globus has spent the last ten years working around cinema cameras and film sets. An active CineVic member, he has made a number of independent short films and music videos as a Cinematographer, Producer and Director. A member of the International Cinematographers Guild, Local 669, he works as a Camera Assistant on feature film and television series, most recently Reginald the Vampire, Season 1 & 2 for NBC Universal’s SyFy Channel. Brian is an Affiliate Member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers, and operates a local production company www.milezeromedia.ca. He enjoys sharing what he has learned about filmmaking and exchanging knowledge with other creators. IMDB >>
